Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• —Account information: your email address, used to sign in with a one-time verification code. We do not store passwords.
• —Application information you provide: for families, this may include parent names, contact details, city and ZIP code, the number and ages of your children, the care you are looking for, a household description, and employer and occupation. For caregivers, it may include your name, contact details, languages, professional background, work history, references, and whether you have your own child.
• —Information about children: provided only by parents or guardians — such as ages and care needs — and never collected from children directly. Please share only what is needed to arrange care and companionship.
• —Basic technical information needed to operate the service, such as device type and app version.

Application drafts are saved locally on your device until you submit them. The current version of the app does not upload documents; if our review requires verification materials, we will request them separately and tell you how they will be handled. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics SDKs in the app.

How we use it

How we share it

Introductions are the point of the service: when we introduce you, we share relevant profile information with the other family or caregiver. Before you are approved and introduced, other members cannot see you. We also rely on a small number of infrastructure providers — currently Supabase (authentication and database hosting) and Expo (app build infrastructure) — which process data on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of members, children, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information, we have not sold personal information in the past twelve months, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

Retention and security

We keep application and account information while your account is active or your application is under consideration. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that restrict who can see what. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing support@tunnelmiles.com. California residents may have additional rights under California law, including the right to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion; we honor such requests regardless of statutory thresholds, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

Children’s privacy

The service is for adults (18+). Children do not use Tunnel, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Information about children — such as ages and care needs — is provided to us by their parents or guardians for the purpose of arranging care and companionship, and is treated as the parent’s information under this policy.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
